PRESTIGIOUS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
What is the Prestigious Scholarship Program (PSP)?
The Prestigious Scholarship Program serves to prepare Appalachian State University students to apply for competitive prestigious scholarships and to gain admission to nationally-recognized graduate programs. Since 2000, the Appalachian State University PSP has continually supported enrichment activities and has provided opportunities for Appalachian’s most promising students. The program is focused on three main activities.
The AIM High Program
Currently enrolled Appalachian undergraduate students (especially sophomores) with 30 or more hours of credit and GPAs of 3.85 or higher are encouraged to apply for the AIM High Program membership before August 12, 2009. AIM High Program Application During the academic year, AIM High members will attend monthly meetings. Topics include the personal statement, active involvement in research and creative activities, letters of recommendation, resumes, and funding opportunities for research projects.

Prestigious Scholarships and Application Support
Undergraduate and graduate students who apply for external prestigious scholarships are provided information and support in completing applications. The PSP Office oversees each application process by nominating and interviewing students, meeting scholarship deadlines, assisting in submitting a complete and competitive application, and providing letters of support. Scholarship Workshops
Periodic workshops about prestigious scholarships will be held in the Honors Office on Wednesdays.
