Concentration: Professional Writing

Activities Involved in: President of Appalachian Honors Association (AHA!), intramural volleyball & dodgeball, Sigma Tao Delta, ultimate frisbee, U-partner program

Why did you become an Honors Student? Because I wanted to take challenging courses and I wanted to graduate with honors since I will be applying to graduate school.

What do you like most about the Heltzer Honors Program? The professors because they are enthusiastic about what they teach, they are easy to talk to outside of class and the living-learning community is an easy way of meeting new friends and taking class all in the same place.

Interesting Facts: I studied abroad in Spain during the summer of 2006 and received six credit hours in Spanish. I lived with a host family in Madrid, Spain for five weeks and I visited several cities, including Sevilla, Leon, Toledo, and La Linea. It was my first plane trip and after returning, I decided to double-major in Spanish.

Activities Involved in: Vice President of Appalachian Honors Association (AHA!), Residential Students Association (RSA), Resident Assistant (RA) and student worker in Foreign Language Department

Why did you become an Honors Student? Because I wanted something more than the typical academic experience.

What do you like most about the Heltzer Honors Program? The class sizes, structure and responses from other students that you cannot get from larger classes.

Interesting Facts: I look forward to writing my Honors Thesis and learning how to do research in a particular area of interest.

Why did you become an Honors Student? I thought it was a good opportunity and it would look good for potential graduate schools.

What do like most about the Heltzer Honors Program? The community and how we get to make friendships with people in the building and within our classes

Interesting Facts: I am currently crotcheting a blanket and I am completely bi-lingual. I was raised in an all Spanish speaking family.
