How do I sign up to live in East Hall?
Starting Fall 2010, all incoming freshmen Honors students are automatically assigned a room in East Hall. Any student who does not want to live in East Hall must contact the Heltzer Honors Program in writing at honors@appstate.edu. 
Where do I indicate on the Housing Form that I want to live in East?
There is not an area to designate that you want to live in East. All incoming freshmen Honors students are placed into East Hall by default. If a student does not want to live in East Hall, they need to contact the Heltzer Honors Program at honors@appstate.edu.
Can I have a Non-Honors roommate in East?
No. We only have room for honors students in East Hall. Any non-honors students will be placed into other residence halls on campus. Students in East are grouped with their fellow honors classmates along their hallways. Roommate requests to live in East must be for fellow Honors students. Advantages of Living in East Hall
- East Hall's rooms are among the largest rooms on campus.
- Two-thirds of the rooms have walk-in closets.
- All rooms have a sink.
- The residence hall is exclusively for Honors students.
- East is centrally located on campus and is close to the Library, Student Union, classroom buildings, the cafeteria and more.
- East is the only campus residence hall with a front lawn for programs, cookouts, frisbee, and various activities.
- The Honors Offices and Advisors are located in the basement of East Residence Hall.
- Honors classrooms and the majority of Honors First Year Seminars are located in the basement of East Residence Hall.
Only students who have been accepted into the Heltzer Honors Program will live in Honors housing.
All incoming Honors students will be placed into East Hall by default unless the student contacts the Heltzer Honors Program at honors@appstate.edu.
